Product Description: In this work Cornelius Van Til responds to three books which were published (in the late 1950's) to give Christians three viewpoints of contemporary Christianity. It was written with the twofold purpose of showing a) that the positions of William Hordern in The Case for a New Reformation Theology and L. harold DeWolf in The Case for Theology in Liberal Perspective, really represent the same view, which may be called the non-Biblical view and b) that the position of Edward John Carnell in The Case for Orthodox Theology, while seeking earnestly to present the Biblical point of view, does not do it at all adequately. Van Til goes on to demonstrate that there are really only two points of view, not three, between which Christian's must choose.

Chapter 4 presents Calvinism's message of Christianity, more than any other form of Protestantism, as the clearest challenge to the wisdom of the world. Van Til says, "It is not our purpose in this chapter to discuss Calvinism from any other point of view except that of its ability or inability to bring the challenge of the gospel of Christ to modern man."
