The latest publication by the Committee for the Historian of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church brings this important work by Edward J. Young back into print in commemoration of the one hundredth anniversary of his birth. The God-Breathed Scripture was originally given as the Bauman Memorial Lectures at Grace Theological Seminary and College in 1966.
Richard B. Gaffin, Jr., writes in the foreword: "In these lectures Young displays a clear grasp of, and expresses incisively, what should constitute the heart of the church's doctrine of Scripture. That doctrine must be based on what the Bible teaches about itself, the Bible's doctrine of the Bible; or, in other words, the self-witness of Scripture."
E. J. Young (1907-1968) was a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and a professor of Old Testament at Westminster Theological Seminary from 1936 until his death in 1968.

Faculty Review:
"Young's lectures prove immensely helpful in the current climate of compromise and confusion regarding the doctrine of Scripture. He reminds us that while there may be difficulties in the text of Scripture that we will never fully understand, Scripture is 'the Word of Him who is the Truth' (p. 102)." - Lane G. Tipton, Associate Professor of Systematic Theology, Westminster Theological Seminary
Staff Pick: "In this short collections of essays, Westminster professor, E. J. Young clearly reminds us that Scripture has its authority and trustworthiness simply because it is God-breathed. A classic defense of the reformed doctrine of Scripture." - Micah Bickford, Westminster Bookstore Staff See all of Micah's Staff Picks
