The Tyndale Commentaries are perhaps the best medium length commentaries available. The two volume work on the Psalms is outstanding. Derek Kidner carefully examines the structure and meaning of the Psalms and pays careful attention to interpretive issues. Never forgetting the Psalms are the worship and prayer book of God's people, Kidner's work is consistently devotional. These volumes will be very helpful for pastors and laypersons alike. If you are planning to study or teach the Psalms then you ought to have Kidner's two volume set. |
