Publisher's Description: Randy Pope has created a blueprint for pastors and church
planters with The Intentional Church. Such an organization must
model a dynamic spirit of worship and servanthood that will cause
it to become a magnet for people needing help. Part of the blueprint
involves having a God-honoring purpose, a faith-oriented
commitment, a well-defined mission, biblically-based job descriptions,
and more. A relevant resource for pastors and lay persons.

I picked this book up following a seminar led by the author and have been richly rewarded. Well-illustrated with his experiences planting and leading Perimeter Church (PCA) in Atlanta, Pope leads pastors and elders inside the nuts and bolts of an “effective ministry plan” that focuses on much more than simply increasing attendance figures. Pope demonstrates how thoughtful, biblical, and contextual attention to purpose, vision, and mission statements, job descriptions and assessment criteria can advance the church’s work of maturing Christians, reaching the unchurched, and transforming lives and communities. |
