Endorsements (${ productEndorsements.length })
"Navigating questions about morality, especially the morality of God in the Old Testament, requires special care and thoughtful, biblical consideration. In this little booklet, Beale provides readers with just that."
Miles V. Van Pelt
Alan Belcher Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Languages, Academic Dean, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson
“Here is an excellent exposition of Jesus miraculous conception, what is commonly called the virgin birth. Brandon Crowe explains the New Testament teaching, patiently deals with modern objections, and shows why the faith in the virgin birth not only remains tenable but is vital for Christians today. Readers will find his treatment both illuminating and edifying.”
Charles E. Hill
Professor of New Testament, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando
“Should You Believe in God? by Scott Oliphint is a very capable and winsome statement of Christian theism. I commend it to you.”
Douglas Wilson
Senior Minister, Christ Church, Moscow, ID
“When I first read Van Tils pamphlet Why I Believe in God as a college student, it turned my world upside down. It was unlike any philosophical discussion of God that I had ever seen. Scott Oliphints Should You Believe in God? is a kind of updated version of Van Til's pamphlet. Oliphint refers to more recent writers and philosophical controversies. But like Van Tils work, it proposes answers to those issues that move far beyond the answers that are usually considered respectable.”
John M. Frame
Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando
“A useful survey of the various terms and concepts invoked in this very controversial topic. Those who are just starting to look into these issues would do well to read this essay at the outset.”
David Snokes
Professor of Physics and Astronomy, University of Pittsburgh
“There is often more heat than light in the controversies over creation, evolution, and intelligent design, and much of the heat arises from widespread and sometime deliberate confusion over the various meanings of these terms. Guillermo Gonzalez and Jay Richards do an excellent job of shining light on those meanings and explaining the major issues at stake in the debates. This book is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to understand whats really going on, especially Christians who are told that science conflicts with their faith.”
Jonathan Wells
Senior Fellow, Center for Science and Culture, Seattle
“Though brief, this booklet is informed, irenic, and instructive. It covers all the bases in an extremely readable style, and all sides to this dialog should find it helpful. I highly recommend it.”
J. P. Moreland
Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, Talbot School of Theology, Biola University; author, Love Your God with All Your Mind
“Oliphints main illustration is very illuminating: when youre trying to find your way in a strange place, it is better to have a GPS than a mere road map. So philosophy (which, unlike other sciences, never seems to make real progress) needs a view from above; it needs to accept guidance from the revelation of God. Oliphint gives us some examples of how Gods word provides clarity and cogency to the philosophers task.”
John M. Frame
Professor of Systematic Theology and Philosophy, Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando
"In this little booklet, rich in thought and vivid in style, Dave Garner deftly leads us through some of the most important questions that a person can ever ask. He points us to the Scripture as the only place where we will ever find lasting and satisfying answers to those questions. He shows us how we can be sure of those answers so that we may live in the joy of that certainty. If you are wrestling with some of life's big questions, or know someone who is, then run—don't walk&mdmash;to How Can I Know for Sure?"
Guy Prentiss Waters
Professor of New Testament, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, MS
"Dave Garner, in this masterful volume, not only has reaffirmed the Holy Spirit-delivered Word of God through human authors and hundreds of years as inerrant, infallible, and reliable, but has also, with convincing clarity and courageous humility, displayed the Word of God as absolutely sufficient and efficient for evangelizing the lost and equipping followers of Christ. With freshness, out author both challenges and encourages the church in maintaining our stewardship and Holy Spirit-dependent proclamation of the Word of God as we announce the grace of God to the glory of God."
Harry L. Reeder III
Senior Pastor, Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL
"Most non-scientists don't know what to make of scientific arguments questioning the historicity of Genesis, and most theologians do not feel competent to evaluate the scientific arguments or their reliability. Dr. Poythress, who is well informed on the subject, breaks down the main scientific arguments about human origins in ways accessible to the general reader."
Ann Gauger
Senior Research Scientist, Biologic Institute, Redmond, WA
"Poythress boldly and knowledgeably tackles some of the scientific reasoning that has been used to argue that humans are nothing more than advanced apes.... He exemplifies the right use of critical thinking in science and in faith."
C. John Collins
Professor of Old Testament, Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis
