Endorsements (${ productEndorsements.length })
“Anyone serious about discipling teens must traverse the rocky terrain of their sin along the beautiful landscape of the gospel. Jerry Bridges here brings the 'boring' sins of everyday Christianity under the blinding light and magnifying glass of God's holiness. I have been utterly humbled as the wonder of my Father's love has been revealed in contrast to my respectable sins.”
Drew T. Lints
Pastor of Students and Families, Village Seven Presbyterian Church
“Simple. clear. Rich. Gospel-centered. Everything you would expect from Jerry Bridges. For teens to have these categories of sin in their minds, experience the life-transforming power of the gospel, and know how to handle these issues biblically are gifts that will bless them for the rest of their lives. I'm jealous for our youth to benefit from this book.”
Michael Plewniak
Pastor, Cornerstone Church of Knoxville
“In all of Jerry's writings and speaking, he invites us to something, someone, much greater and more beautiful. HIs passion for the gospel has forever changed my life. He reminds us that a correct appropriation of the gospel should always lead to a greater hunger for holiness, never apathy. It is the gospel that give us hope to not live in the shame of the sins we struggle with as we continue on this journey toward more of Jesus in our lives.”
Mark McElmurry
Associate Dean of Students, Covenant Theological Seminary
“In this book, Jerry challenges youth at the heart level rather than just addressing outward behavior. His clear and concise explanation of the gospel is one that teenagers will be able to grasp and apply to their lives. This book needs to be a part of every youth curriculum.”
Tyler Clements
Director of Youth Ministries, Grace EPC, Lawrence, KS
“We tend to limit godliness to a set of attainable behaviors—don't drink, smoke or chew, or go out with girls who do—but neglect the heart. In doing so, we promote a works-righteousness that cuts young people off from the grace of God. In this book, Jerry begins with the encouraging good news that you are a saint, and not because of what you do but because of what Christ has done. Yet even though you are a saint, you are also a sinner. He then shows how to live as saints through dependence on the Holy Spirit. I know of no other book that is so clear, accessible, practical, and biblical in training young people how to live in the grace of God. This resource will be one that I give out regularly to teenagers, parents, and youth leaders to encourage them in gospel living.”
Mark Bates
Senior Pastor, Village Seven Presbyterian Church, colorado Springs, CO
“Jerry Bridges has his pulse on the problem for mankind: sin. Respectable Sins Student Edition allows teens who follow Christ to examine their own lives in the presence of a holy god. In a culture where sin has been redefined, Bridges goes to the heart of how to combat the sinfulness of sin.”
Mario Zandstra
CEO, Pine Cove Camps, TX
