William Perkins

William Perkins (1558–1602) was a fellow of Christ's College, Cambridge, and lecturer at Great St Andrew's Church. Often called the father of Puritanism, he wrote A Golden Chain and The Art of Prophesying, and his books were widely read across England and Europe.

Start with The Art of Prophesying, his short classic on preaching, or A Golden Chain, his outline of how God saves.
