Over the next 96 hours, Amazon is expected to sell a staggering $21 Billion in goods during its annual “Prime Day.” Walmart has responded with its own “Walmart Deals” event, running from July 8-13. “It’s Amazon vs. Walmart,” writes Sherwood news. “The winner? Maybe bargain-hunting consumers. The losers? Any non-billion-dollar online stores trying to sell stuff over the next week.”
As a “non-billion dollar online store,” we feel the ground shake when giants clash. And yet, we know this: “God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.” For 22 years, the Lord has sustained our small nonprofit book ministry:
- When Amazon's dominance shuttered bookstores across the country, He sustained us.
- When many predicted the death of print and the rise of eBooks, He sustained us.
- When COVID shut down the world, He sustained us.
By God’s grace and thanks to our loyal customers, we’ve not only survived—we’ve grown. Every year, we’ve reached more churches, pastors, families, and schools with biblically faithful books.
Today, Amazon is again aggressively discounting books. That’s not all bad: more Bibles and Christian books are being distributed than perhaps ever before—Bible sales rose over 20% in the general market last year. Praise the Lord! But any non-Amazon bookstore like us who survived the onslaught of the last decade are once again feeling the pinch. And yet, this too is good news, because it forces us to our knees, deepening our dependence on God's provision, and pushing us to adapt and improve our service.
For 72 hours, we’re offering deep discounts on over 400 of our best books. Sure, go ahead and grab that new impact driver set you’ve had your eye on, and give thanks for good deals. But if you’ve read this far, would you take a moment to consider who in your life could be blessed by a book this week? Your spouse? Your pastor? Your mom or dad? Your child? Your neighbor who doesn’t yet know Christ?
With each book you buy, you’re not just saving a few dollars. You’re strengthening the Christian book ecosystem—helping us expand our influence with publishers and extend the reach of gospel truth. Thank you for standing with us. And thank you, most of all, for loving the truth enough to share it.
