Paradise Lost: Legacy Edition

First published in 1667, John Milton’s narrative poem presents an epic sweep of salvation history centered in the Garden of Eden. Through the retelling of the story of Adam and Eve, Milton addresses the origin of evil and suffering in the world and God’s redemptive dealings with mankind.

Our Legacy Edition is unabridged and has spelling that has been lightly updated in cases where it would confuse modern readers. Explanatory notes are included in the margins for allusions to Greek mythology and obscure words.
