Endorsements (${ productEndorsements.length })
“One of our best loved preacher-theologians, Alec Motyer, applies his customary wisdom, wit and clarity to provide a practical but inspiring introduction to the task of preaching. This refreshing guide, laced with excellent Biblical examples and astute observations from personal experience, will be a great read for preachers old and new, and I warmly commend it.”
Jonathan Lamb
Director, Langham Preaching, Oxford
“Alec Motyer is a man of the Bible. His love and understanding for the Scriptures, that was instilled in him from a very young age spills out in his writings and also in his recent book, Preaching?: Simple Teaching on Simply Preaching. Alec has done a fantastic job in making preaching as simple as the title suggests. The main point that stands out throughout the book is that preaching is uncomplicated, but requires work, and hard work. The work is not only in the preparation, but also the behavior and the spirituality of the preacher....The book is very helpful to both the novice as well as the veteran preacher. I highly recommend the book.”
David Zadok
Director, Christian Witness to Israel, Hagefen Publishing, Israel
“Alec Motyer once said of Allan Harman's commentary on Isaiah, 'His work has made me wish wholeheartedly that I could start all over again.' And Alec's succinct and stirring treatise on preaching makes me wish wholeheartedly that I could start all over again-in that blessed privilege of preaching, praying and pastoring.”
Dale Ralph Davis
author and Bible expositor
“Given the content, readability and insights which Alec Motyer's book contains and the primacy of preaching combined with the present day abdication of confidence in the divinely ordained instrumentality of faithful expository public preaching of God's Word, this book is a "must" for preachers and for those who want to understand preaching and encourage preachers.”
Harry L. Reeder
Pastor of Preaching & Leadership, Briarwood Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, AL
“Alec Motyer has had a profound, formative influence on my preaching. In this book he puts his decades of wisdom on expository preaching at the reader's fingertips. This is as practical and Biblically solid a book on preaching as you can find today.”
Tim Keller
Senior Pastor, Redeemer Presbyterian Church, New York City
