We are not meant to face life on our own. Even with the best God-given resources, there are times when we find ourselves wrestling with the question of whether or not we should seek formal counseling.

By exploring a biblical approach to care, experienced counselors Eliza Huie and Kyle Johnston capture a vision for counseling that gets to the heart of real change. If you have questions, or are wondering where to start, this booklet will help you to determine not only if counseling would be a helpful option, but also how to get the most out of the process every step of the way.

Eliza Huie is an experienced marriage and family counselor. She has completed three levels of certificate training from the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). She is currently working on completing her Masters in Counseling in the Graduate School of Counseling at Biblical Seminary. She is also a contributing writer for the Biblical Counseling Coalition.

Understanding and experiencing God’s redeeming grace for change is her motivation for counseling. Her years of experience in the counseling room have established her confidence that God is able to bring hope to even the darkest situations. Besides working with married couples, Eliza also works with individuals for one–on–one counseling.

Eliza is married to her husband, Ken, and they have three children in their late teens and early twenties. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and being outdoors with her family. Her areas of special interest in the counseling realm are marriage and family, pre–marital counseling, depression/anxiety, addiction, and relational and sexual brokenness.
