A small book for people who are experiencing suicidal emotions, or for those offering them counsel.

Suicide is not new, but its acceptability and even popularity are quite new. Statistics indicate that more than 101 people take their own lives every day. However, those who work in the field of crisis intervention also testify that a significant number of suicides are preventable provided help is available. This mini-book will help you to recognize the warning signs of suicidal thinking and increase the possibility of giving hope to a suicidal friend before it’s too late.

Bruce Ray is a pastor of Juanita Community Church in Kirkland, Washington (retired from full-time role). He has been in pastoral ministry for 50 years and has also served as a Police, Fire & EMS chaplain for 30 years. Bruce is a certified Field Traumatologist and a member of the International Conference of Police Chaplains, the Federation of Fire Chaplains, the American Association of Suicidology, and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Bruce also serves on the Executive Board of the Fellowship of Independent Reformed Evangelicals (FIRE) and on the Advisory Board of Northwest University's Buntain College of Nursing. Bruce and his wife, Terri, have five adult children and six grandchildren. Bruce has authored several books and is a frequent speaker on crisis intervention and trauma issues.
