Repentance and Forgiveness Bundle (NSBT)
These four NSBT’s examine the doctrines of forgiveness, repentance. Peter Bolt uses the Gospel of Mark’s teaching of forgiveness through the atonement, and how to preach this message to a contemporary world. Michael Morales explores the narrative context, literary structure and theology of Leviticus. Asking the question how it is possible through atonement to come to God, showing how life with God in the house of God was the original goal of Creation. Now, it is the goal of redemption and the new creation. Graham A. Cole examines how the broken creation is made whole by the incarnation, atonement on the cross and the resurrection. This brokenness needs to regain peace with God and with one another. Atonement brings shalom by defeating the enemies of peace. The peace that atonement brings ranges from the forgiveness of sins for the individual to adoption into the family of God. Mark Boda helps us to understand that we are far away from God and what we need to return to Him is repentance. Repentance is fundamentally a return to intimate fellowship with the Triune God. This relational return arises from the human heart and impacts attitudes, words and actions.

Endorsements (${ productEndorsements.length })
“In this study of the Gospel of Mark, Dr. Peter Bolt is an enormously engaging and informed guide. Section after section of the Gospel comes into sharper focus, as more and more of Mark is read in the light of the movement and direction of its thought. Interwoven with the exegesis is a great deal of useful interaction with a wide range of well-chosen literature, and incisive meditation on what this cross-saturated text says to us today. Dr. Bolt combines careful reading and profound theological synthesis. . . . The result is a book that will stimulate and edify any serious Christian reader.”

“Michael Morales has written an excellent book, Who Shall Ascend the Mountain of the Lord? A Biblical Theology of Leviticus (IVP), that I hope will help people to better understand the purpose of Leviticus, and in particular the nature of true biblical worship. Highly recommended.”

“Few if any themes are more central to the Bible than atonement... My hope and prayer is that this volume will become a 'standard' contribution in the field, informing and enriching its readers as to what God achieved by sending his dear Son to the cross on our behalf. Eternity itself will not exhaust our wonder at these truths. This book, I am sure, will establish many in the right direction.”

“Boda's book will serve pastors and scholars well in showing that repentance is neither mechanical nor forced upon people in the Bible's presentation; rather, it springs from a deeply personal encounter between sinful people and a holy God.”
