Westminster Confession of Faith for Study Classes (2nd Edition)
Source: Sermon Audio
Publisher's Description
An unsurpassed summary of biblical truth, the Westminster Confession of Faith should be familiar ground to people of Reformed and Presbyterian conviction. For decades, G.I. Williamson's guide to the confession has been an invaluable resource toward that end.
Now in a new, attractive format, this comprehensive study manual shows the Westminster Confession to be an unsurpassed summary of biblical teaching for doctrine and life.
About the Author
G. I. Williamson graduated from Drake University in 1949, and received the BD degree from Pittsburgh-Xenia Theological Seminary in 1952. An ordained minister, he has served congregations in the Old United Presbyterian Church of North America, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America. But most of his ministerial service has been with the Reformed Churches of New Zealand and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, which he continues to serve.
Now semiretired, Williamson is editor of Ordained Servant, a journal published by the Orthodox Presbyterian Church for pastors, elders, and deacons. He has written several other books that have been well received by Reformed Christians, including The Westminster Shorter Catechism: For Study Classes and The Heidelberg Catechism: A Study Guide. He is also editor of The Westminster Larger Catechism: A Commentary, by Johannes G. Vos.
Endorsements (${ productEndorsements.length })
“A trustworthy guide and excellent resource for all who wish to understand the Westminster Confession of Faith. Highly recommended for both personal and group study.”
Cornelis Van Dam
“If the biblical, Reformed faith is to be a living faith in our day, it requires an intimate acquaintance with the kind of biblical wisdom contained in this great confession. Williamson's study is an excellent help to that end.”
Cornelis P. Venema
“Useful, practical, succinct, and sound . . . still the best and safest work of its kind available. It serves so many purposes: church classes, home schooling, private study, family worship. The explanation of each chapter clearly communicates the gist of Reformed doctrine in a practical way, probing sufficiently deep to impart truths both old and new without becoming verbose. The appended questions will stimulate much thought and great discussion.”
Joel R. Beeke
President and Professor of Systematic Theology and Homiletics, Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary
